As a believer in Christ, do you know that the greatest disciple maker who ever walked this earth lives inside of you? That’s right! Through His Holy Spirit, Jesus lives in you and the DNA of disciple-making flows through your spiritual veins.
When believers step out in faith to be disciple makers, we experience the incredible power and presence of God in our lives like never before. This is how you know that you can be a disciple maker.
When Jesus gave our Great Commission, it came with a promise. After commanding us to “make disciples,” He said, “And behold, I AM with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:18-20). He did not say, “I will be with you.” He said, “I AM (ego eimi) with you.” This is significant!
This is one of the great “I AM” statements of Jesus in the New Testament. All disciple makers can know for certain that Jehovah God—the great I AM—is with us and that the DNA of disciple-making flows through us. So, let’s go make disciples and put the promise to test!
