Disciple-Making Defined

D-LIFE DEVO...
What is disciple-making? Some churches tend to think that almost everything they do is disciple-making or “discipleship.” However, when you think everything is disciple-making, then nothing really is. And this is a problem!
To build a true disciple-making culture in your church you must first know what you’re trying to build. You must be able to define it. I have a very specific and scriptural definition of disciple-making.
Disciple-making is when a mature believer becomes a disciple maker by using his or her influence to intentionally lead a small group of others to grow in spiritual maturity, serve in missional ministry, and reproduce as disciple makers. This is true disciple-making.
The early church knew what disciple-making is, and they turned the world upside down for Jesus. When we stop thinking that everything is disciple-making and start training our people to be true disciple makers, then maybe we can turn the world upside down for Him once again.
Discover how the DNA of disciple-making lives within every believer through the Holy Spirit.
