In D-Life, the Bible is our only textbook. The Bible and the D-Life Journal or D-Life Online are the only tools needed to lead a D-Group.
A major goal of D-Lifeis to lead people to develop a lifelong habit of daily Bible reading. This alone is life changing. In our D-Groups, we hold one another accountable to daily Bible reading and to writing down one personal application point from our daily Bible reading assignments. We make SPACE in our hearts for God's Word by asking five simple questions as we read each chapter. We ask if there is a:
Sin to confess?
Promise to claim?
Attitude to change?
Command to obey?
Example to follow?
In each chapter, you will find an answer to at least one of these questions. Ask God to give you a personal word as you read. Let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. As you ask these questions, let God show you a personal point of application. Psalm 119:18 is a great prayer to pray, "Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law."
When God speaks to your heart, you want to write it down. In your weekly study guide, circle the appropriate letter in the acrostic SPACE that relates to your application point and write a brief note reflecting your thoughts. For example, in John 3:16, you may see a "Promise to claim." Circle the letter "P" and then you may write something like: "What a great promise to claim! God loves me and has given me eternal life through faith in His Son. Thank you God for Your incredible gift of life."
It is helpful to have a certain time and place where you meet alone with God each day for prayer and Bible study. Make your daily time alone with God a major priority in your life.
