Jesus called His disciples to come and have intimate fellowship with Him.
Likewise, D-Groups of three to five people will meet weekly for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. D-Groups can meet anytime and anywhere including coffee shops, cafes, homes, schools, parks, churches, or places of business. Those in your D-Groups may or may not go to your church. They can include family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers.

Jesus taught His disciples using stories and interactive group discussions.
Likewise, D-Groups will study and discuss the Bible use the D-Life Weekly Study Guides for their daily Bible reading plan and group discussions. Each week a different person in the group will be assigned to lead in prayer, tell the Bible story, read the passage, and facilitate an interactive group discussion by using the questions provided in the study guide.

Jesus prayed with His disciples and taught them how to pray.
Likewise, D-Groups will pray together weekly and practice the discipline of prayer in their daily lives. Each week D-Groups will share prayer requests and a different person will be assigned to lead the group in prayer. Regardless of where they meet, D-Groups will pray for one another and for spiritual awakening in our land.

Jesus equipped His disciples for the work of ministry and evangelism.
Likewise, D-Groups will share in ministry to one another and in "outside the walls" ministry and evangelism. The goal of every D-Group is to work together on one ministry and evangelism project every two months---that's six ministry projects each year.

Jesus trained His followers to be disciples who make other disciples.
Likewise, D-Groups will multiply within one to two years. It is not the goal of D-Groups to remain together. It is through multiplication that D-Groups fulfill the purpose of making disciples who make disciples.

Jesus held His disciples accountable to these six practices of disciple-making.
Likewise, D-Groups will hold one another accountable to these six practices of disciple-making. Loving spiritual accountability is vital in relationships committed to spiritual growth, missional ministry, and multiplication.

D-LIFE IS BIBLICAL
D-Life involves reading and discussing the Bible. The Bible is your only textbook in your D-Group.
|
D-LIFE IS MISSIONAL
D-Life involves participating in ministry and evangelism outside the walls of the church with your D-Group.
|
D-LIFE IS REPRODUCIBLE
D-Life involves making disciples who make disciples. It's a simple and reproducible process.

LEADING A D-GROUP
A D-Group can begin with as few as three to five people. Groups can meet anytime and anywhere including a coffee shop, cafe, home, park, prison, school, church, or place of business. New groups should be started when group participation reaches eight. To begin a discipleship group consider creating diversity within the group, such as:
- Another mature believer, who can help you lead the group and be equipped to multiply out to lead a new group.
- New believers, who can benefit by connecting in discipleship with other believers.
- Unbelievers and the unchurched, who are open to hearing about Jesus.
- Multi-generational believers, who bring different life stages and different spiritual journeys into the group.
- Believers struggling in life with issues such as drug abuse, depression, and gender identification, who will benefit from having the support and accountability of other believers.
MULTIPLYING A D-GROUP
|
Jesus didn't teach His disciples to add; He taught them to multiply.
His goal was not to remain with His disciples forever, but to send them out. Jesus made disciples who made disciples. He did not make any other kind, and neither should we.
Disciple-making requires the multiplication of disciples; apart from multiplication there is no real discipleship. |
Consider the possibilities...
What if you simply discipled three people every year—just three? And what if you sent out one of them each year to do the same? The fruit of your life could be immeasurable.
Let’s take a deeper look. As a D-Group Leader, here are your goals…
As you make disciples who make disciples, the unlimited nature of your fruit-bearing potential can be seen in the graphic below on "Multiplying Disciples."
Let’s take a deeper look. As a D-Group Leader, here are your goals…
- 1) You simply disciple at least three people every year.
- 2) You send out one disciple each year to do the same.

Multiplying Disciples Brings Exponential Kingdom Growth
As seen above, in just ten years over five hundred discipleship groups and more than fifteen-hundred disciples could trace their roots back to you. In twenty years, over five-hundred thousand discipleship groups and a million-and-a-half people would be discipled because of you. In thirty years—well, let's not go there—because I know what you are thinking. You’re thinking that such a disciple-making movement could never happen because of you. But, why not you?
In your lifetime, you have the potential to reach thousands of people for Christ. It all begins with just one disciple maker who is willing to disciple at least three people and multiply one out to do the same. Why would you not want to live a lifestyle of disciple-making?
